Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is a 2017 Indian Hindi superhero film directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It has been titled in English as The Conjuring 2.The movie is part of the 2017 Indian horror film series, "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" consisting of four films released since 2005. Produced by Sahil Sanam, it stars Emraan Hashmi and Nargis Fakhri in the lead roles with Mohit Raina, Lisa Haydon, Mohd Fasih Behroz, Anita Hassanandani in supporting roles. A remake of 2013 Hollywood film "The Conjuring". The film released worldwide on 11 May 2017. It was one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2017."Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" revolves around the story of demonologist Eddie (Emraan Hashmi) and his wife Chhaya (Nargis Fakhri) who are convinced that their new born son is possessed by an evil spirit, which is causing all kinds on problems, including trouble with the local "djinn", Ahir (Mohd Fasih Behroz). On the other hand, the couple soon discovers that their neighbour Pee-Chai (Lisa Haydon) has paranormal abilities after discovering the spirit residing within her. The two struggles to protect both her and their baby from Pee-Chai's evil spirit.The film is based on the 2013 horror film "The Conjuring", written by CareyOGorman, Chad Hayes and Janet Hirshenson, story by Chad Hayes, CareyOGorman and Tony Sottile, all of which were also adapted for this film. The film was first announced by producer Sahil Sanam just one month after the 2013 Hollywood "The Conjuring" movie released. It was later confirmed by director Ram Gopal Varma that the film would feature a love story as a part of its plot.On 4 September 2015, production began for "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag", which was set to start shooting in Delhi and Nepal, with Emraan Hashmi playing the lead character as demonologist Eddie Oleander. In the past few years, Emraan pursued several projects as a part of his solo work and had been helping out with all kinds of Bollywood films, but he didn't have the time to think about venturing into horror films. The first trailer of the film was released on 31 October 2016 which was followed by the release of the second trailer on 19 November 2016. On 18 February 2017, the motion poster of "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" was released to promote the film. The third teaser of the film was released on 10 March 2017, while its fourth teaser got released on 16 April 2017. On 23 April 2017, a new motion poster featuring Emraan Hashmi with a snake wrapped around his neck was revealed to promote the film's soundtrack album.
